Refrigeration & Chiller Compressor Lubrication Map

Refrigeration oil must match the refrigerant. The wrong oil causes poor oil return, sludge and compressor failure. ZEROL® oils are made for each refrigerant family.

FAQ

Refrigeration & Chiller Compressor Lubrication Questions

What lubricant should I use on refrigeration & chiller compressor compressor oil (match the refrigerant)?

We recommend ZEROL® ESTER (POE) for normal conditions. POE (ZEROL ESTER) is the standard for HFC systems. Choose by refrigerant: AB for HCFCs, PAG for ammonia and CO₂, polyether for HFOs. Typical interval: Check the oil level glass weekly. Analyze oil yearly.

What lubricant should I use on refrigeration & chiller compressor condenser fan bearings?

We recommend HUSKEY™ Coolube Grease for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ 775 FMG Grease where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Outdoor fans run hot in summer and wet in winter. Use a water-resistant high-speed grease. Typical interval: Every 6 to 12 months.

What lubricant should I use on refrigeration & chiller compressor cold-room conveyor & door bearings?

We recommend HUSKEY™ Coolube 65 Grease for normal conditions. Coolube 65 stays soft at low temperatures; HUSKEY lists it for freezer bearings, slides and conveyors. Typical interval: Every 1 to 3 months.
