Belt Conveyor Lubrication Map
Belt conveyors fail at the bearings first. Use the right grease at each point and they run for years.
Click a number to see the product for that point. HUSKEY™ picks follow HUSKEY’s application chart; Shrieve, Luneta and transformer fluid picks follow the makers’ data. Always follow the equipment maker’s manual.

Belt Conveyor Lubrication Questions
What lubricant should I use on belt conveyor electric motor bearings?
We recommend HUSKEY™ Coolube Grease for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ 775 FMG Grease where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Motors turn fast. A smooth grease that channels keeps the bearings cool. Typical interval: Every 3 to 6 months. Do not over-grease.
What lubricant should I use on belt conveyor speed reducer (gearbox)?
We recommend HUSKEY™ Enclosed Gear Oils for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ 15A14 Series Lube Oils where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Gear oil made for worm, helical and planetary reducers. Typical interval: Check level monthly. Change per maker or yearly.
What lubricant should I use on belt conveyor drive chain & sprockets?
We recommend HUSKEY™ Chain & Cable Lube for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ Biobase EP Lube where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Gets into pins and bushings, then stays put to stop wear and rust. Typical interval: Weekly, more often in wet areas.
What lubricant should I use on belt conveyor head pulley bearings?
We recommend HUSKEY™ Tuff Stuff Grease for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ Lube-O-Seal where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Slow, heavily loaded bearings need a tough grease that stays in place. Typical interval: Every 1 to 3 months.
What lubricant should I use on belt conveyor tail pulley & take-up bearings?
We recommend HUSKEY™ Coolplex Grease for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ 775 FMG Grease where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Exposed to dirt and water. The grease must seal and resist washout. Typical interval: Every 1 to 3 months.
What lubricant should I use on belt conveyor take-up screws & slides?
We recommend HUSKEY™ Tuff Stuff Grease for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ LVI-50 where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Keeps the adjusters free so belt tension stays right. Typical interval: Every 6 months or at belt adjustment.
What lubricant should I use on belt conveyor idler & carrier rollers (greasable)?
We recommend HUSKEY™ Coolplex Grease for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ 775 FMG Grease where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Many rollers, one grease. Protects against dust and water along the line. Typical interval: Per roller type. Sealed rollers need none.
