Overview
ZEROL® AB is Shrieve’s synthetic alkylbenzene (AB) refrigeration compressor lubricant. It was originally formulated for stationary refrigeration systems running CFC and HCFC refrigerants such as R12 and R22.
A very low pour point keeps it fluid in the coldest parts of the evaporator. It resists foaming, is stable at high temperature and does not form waxes, varnishes, gums or residues. Shrieve states it holds many global OEM approvals. Alkylbenzene is also considered for newer hydrocarbon refrigerants such as R290 and R600a, and Shrieve is developing variants for them.
