Lubricated Plug Valve Lubrication Map
Lubricated plug valves only seal and turn when sealant is injected regularly. The right sealant cuts torque and stops leaks.
Click a number to see the product for that point. HUSKEY™ picks follow HUSKEY’s application chart; Shrieve, Luneta and transformer fluid picks follow the makers’ data. Always follow the equipment maker’s manual.

Lubricated Plug Valve Lubrication Questions
What lubricant should I use on lubricated plug valve plug sealant (injection fitting)?
We recommend HUSKEY™ No. 3 General Purpose Valve Lubricant & Sealant for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ Lube "O" Seal Valve Lubricant Grade where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Sealant fills the plug grooves to seal, lubricate and cut turning torque. Typical interval: Before and after operation, or per valve schedule.
What lubricant should I use on lubricated plug valve gear operator?
We recommend HUSKEY™ Coolplex Grease for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ 775 FMG Grease where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Keeps the operator gears turning smoothly with low effort. Typical interval: Yearly.
What lubricant should I use on lubricated plug valve stem packing & o-rings?
We recommend HUSKEY™ LVI-50 for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ LVI-50 where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Lubricates the stem seals at assembly so they seal without wear. Typical interval: At every repack.
What lubricant should I use on lubricated plug valve flange bolts & studs?
We recommend HUSKEY™ 341 Copper Anti-Seize Compound for normal conditions, or HUSKEY™ FG-1800 Anti-Seize and Thread Sealing Compound where NSF H1 food-grade is required. Keeps studs from seizing so the valve can be removed later. Typical interval: At every assembly.
