Lubricants for Cement Plants & Aggregates

Open gear, kiln and gearbox lubricants that stand up to heat and abrasive dust.

The challenge

What Cement & Aggregates Equipment Is Up Against

Abrasive dust

Cement and clinker dust is fine, alkaline and highly abrasive. It gets past seals and turns lubricant into lapping compound.

Girth gears and pinions

Kiln and mill girth gears carry massive torque under shock loads and need a film that will not fling off.

Kiln heat

Kiln tires, support rollers and nearby bearings run hot enough to oxidize and bake ordinary grease.

Long lead times

A failed kiln gearbox or girth gear can mean weeks or months waiting for parts, with the whole plant down.

Cement plants are among the harshest environments any lubricant faces. Kilns run hot, mills and crushers carry heavy shock loads, and a fine, abrasive dust settles on everything. The equipment is large, the parts are expensive, and replacement lead times can stretch for months.

Why cement equipment wears out

Dust contamination is the dominant cause of gearbox and bearing damage. Particle counts in gearbox oil can climb quickly after an oil change if seals and breathers are not up to the job. On open girth gears, the wrong lubricant flings off, leaving teeth unprotected under full load.

Modern solutions

Non-asphaltic open gear lubricants stay on the gear and are easier to clean up. Synthetic gear oils protect heavily loaded gearboxes and run cooler. Oil analysis tells you when dust is getting in before it becomes a failure.

How Oilsan helps

We supply HUSKEY™ open gear lubricants, kiln and crusher greases, synthetic gear oils and high-temperature pastes to cement plants, lime kilns and aggregate operations in Türkiye and around the world.

What’s new

New Lubrication Technologies for Cement & Aggregates

Non-asphaltic open gear lubricants

Semi-synthetic open gear greases with moly and graphite resist fling-off and build a protective film on gear teeth without the mess of old asphaltic products.

Synthetic gear oils with anti-micro-pitting additives

Heavily loaded mill and kiln gearboxes last longer on synthetic oils that protect against micro-pitting and run cooler.

Oil analysis and filtration

Tracking particle counts and filtering gearbox oil catches dust ingress before it damages gears and bearings.

High-temperature anti-seize pastes

Metal-based pastes keep hot bolts and kiln fittings removable after months of thermal cycling.

Moly-Graph Grease

MOLY-GRAPH Grease is blended from the highest quality selected paraffinic petroleum oils, polymers and shear stable synthetic thickeners available. Treated with the latest chemical E.P. additives, rust and oxidation inhibitors to provide lasting protection against friction, wear and corrosion. Graphite and Molybdenum Disulfide (MOLY) lubricating solids of precise sub-micron and micron size have been completely homogenized into the product to further enhance load capacity, improve metal surfaces and reduce friction. Its Polymer base helps the grease to stay put and seal out dirt, water and other contaminants.

LPC Series Gear Oils

LPC GEAR OILS are high-performance, fully synthetic, all-purpose gear oils formulated with HUSKEY’S new proprietary SEM (Surface Eutectic Modification) additive. The revolutionary new SEM technology makes it a Lower Power Consumption (LPC) gear oil, hence the name LPC Gear Oil. They offer maximum wear protection under extreme operating conditions such as vibrations, scuffing, oscillating motions, and shock loads, where metal asperity contact occurs. Because of the thermally and mechanically stable polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oils and SEM technology, HUSKEY LPC GEAR OILS give extra protection to micro-pitting due to asperity contact. In addition, compared to both conventional mineral and synthetic gear oils the HUSKEY LPC GEAR OILS have proven they can lower the operating temperatures of the gearbox resulting in lower power costs. Due to their high viscosity index, they provide effortless startup even during cold temperatures; yet give extra wear protection in high-temperature applications. The added antifoam protection gives extra protection to high-speed gearboxes. In addition, the demulsification properties of HUSKEY LPC GEAR OILS provide very fast separation from water contamination. They meet or exceed all *major gear oil specifications, original equipment manufacturer requirements, and wind turbine manufacturers.

FAQ

Common Questions

What lubricant should we use on kiln and mill girth gears?

A tenacious open gear lubricant with solid additives that resists fling-off, such as HUSKEY Open Gear Grease with moly and graphite. Application method matters too, so tell us whether you use spray, idler immersion or manual application.

How do we keep dust out of gearbox oil?

Good breathers and seals help, but routine oil analysis and filtration are the best defense. Pair them with a synthetic gear oil that tolerates heavy loads.

Which grease is best for kiln support roller bearings?

A high-temperature, non-melting grease with extreme pressure additives, such as HUSKEY 105 Hi-Temp or HTS-2 Moly Grease.
