High-Temperature Lubricants for Steel & Metals Plants

Greases that stay put under water spray, radiant heat and shock loads.

The challenge

What Steel & Primary Metals Equipment Is Up Against

Water spray and washout

Caster and rolling mill bearings sit under high-volume cooling water that physically blasts grease out of housings.

Radiant heat

Bearings near slabs, furnaces and ladles see extreme heat that oxidizes and carbonizes ordinary grease.

Heavy and shock loads

Roll necks, table rolls and coilers carry enormous loads and sudden impacts.

Fire risk

Grease that drips near molten metal or cutting torches can ignite, putting people and equipment at risk.

Steel and metals plants combine the three things lubricants hate most: heat, water and heavy loads. Caster bearings run under cooling sprays, mill stands carry enormous roll forces, and chains move product through furnaces. A grease that works fine elsewhere in industry can wash out, melt or carbonize here within days.

Why steel mill lubrication is different

The biggest killer is water washout combined with heat. Once the grease is gone, the bearing runs on contaminated oil and fails. Heat also oxidizes lubricants and bakes carbon onto chains and guides, adding cleaning time and wear.

What better products change

Water resistant greases with tacky polymers stay in the housing under spray. Synthetic high-temperature greases and chain oils resist oxidation and leave fewer deposits. Nickel anti-seize keeps hot fasteners removable at the next outage.

How Oilsan helps

We supply HUSKEY™ steel mill greases, high-temperature synthetics, gear and chain oils and anti-seize compounds to steel, aluminum and foundry operations in Türkiye and around the world. Tell us the position and conditions and we will recommend the product.

What’s new

New Lubrication Technologies for Steel & Primary Metals

Polymer-enhanced water resistant greases

Tacky polymer additives help grease adhere under direct water spray and resist washout from bearing housings.

Synthetic high-temperature greases

Synthetic base oils and non-melting thickeners hold up where mineral oil greases melt, run out or form carbon.

Low-deposit synthetic chain oils

Ester and synthetic oils lubricate furnace and oven chains at high temperature with far less carbon build-up.

Copper-free anti-seize

Nickel anti-seize protects stainless and alloy fasteners on furnaces and hot equipment where copper is not allowed.

LPC Series Gear Oils

LPC GEAR OILS are high-performance, fully synthetic, all-purpose gear oils formulated with HUSKEY’S new proprietary SEM (Surface Eutectic Modification) additive. The revolutionary new SEM technology makes it a Lower Power Consumption (LPC) gear oil, hence the name LPC Gear Oil. They offer maximum wear protection under extreme operating conditions such as vibrations, scuffing, oscillating motions, and shock loads, where metal asperity contact occurs. Because of the thermally and mechanically stable polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oils and SEM technology, HUSKEY LPC GEAR OILS give extra protection to micro-pitting due to asperity contact. In addition, compared to both conventional mineral and synthetic gear oils the HUSKEY LPC GEAR OILS have proven they can lower the operating temperatures of the gearbox resulting in lower power costs. Due to their high viscosity index, they provide effortless startup even during cold temperatures; yet give extra wear protection in high-temperature applications. The added antifoam protection gives extra protection to high-speed gearboxes. In addition, the demulsification properties of HUSKEY LPC GEAR OILS provide very fast separation from water contamination. They meet or exceed all *major gear oil specifications, original equipment manufacturer requirements, and wind turbine manufacturers.
