SE3® Synthetic Ester
Overview
SE3® Synthetic Ester is a synthetic ester transformer fluid for demanding conditions. Its fire point exceeds 300 °C (typically above 305 °C), about twice that of mineral oil, placing it in K-class.
It stays fluid down to −50 °C, ideal for extreme cold. Oxidation stability is high: IEC 61099 requires 164 hours of oxidation testing, while SE3® was tested for 800 hours, which suits free-breathing transformers. Readily biodegradable per OECD 301B.
Applications
Distribution and power transformers in extreme cold climates, free-breathing transformers and special high-thermal-class applications.
