FR3r™ Natural Ester
Overview
FR3r™ Natural Ester is a transformer fluid made from more than 99% rapeseed (canola) oil, the rapeseed-based member of the FR3® family.
Its fire and flash points are more than twice those of mineral oil (K-class). Its moisture saturation is about 10 times higher than mineral oil, keeping paper insulation dry; the manufacturer reports up to 8x longer insulation life. Readily biodegradable per OECD 301B.
Applications
Power transmission and distribution transformers, solar plants, onshore and offshore wind, and retrofilling of existing transformers.
